Mr. John Listowell Zilevu, has been elected chairman of Volta Regional branch of Referees Association of Ghana (RAG) for four years. The chairmanship position became vacant after the former chairman, Mr. George Saijah, was elected as the National Vice Chairman of the RAG.
Mr. Zilevu won the race with 101 votes, 7 more than Mr. Frank Kudzi, who had 94 votes with Mr. Simon Doku managing 10 votes. The elections took place at the 3rd Quadrennial Congress of the Referees Association of Ghana to deliberate on matters concerning the progress of football in the Volta Region.
Madam Innocentia Agbavitor, a retired FIFA Referee won the Vice Chairmanship polling 133 out of 204 votes to the beat the Ho Central Chairman, Mr. Emmnauel Addadey who had 72 votes. Mr Seyram Akude won the secretary position with 104 votes beating Mr. Yao Yevoo, 94 votes and Mr. Wisdom Kumfour, 6 votes.
The position for Deputy Secretary went to Madam Emmanuella Aglago, Regioinal Technical Instructor, Mr. Shine Ayitey, and Madam Olivia Ayaye, Deputy Regional Treasurer. Mr. Solomon Mordey was elected as Technical Slot and Mr. Samuel Suker, Premier Referee. Mr. Richard Tsey won the position of Regional Fitness Instructor and the Deputy was won by Mr. Wisdom Tefe.
Mr. Zilevu called for unity to move football to ‘greater heights’ in the Region.
