The Australian didn't win a place in Sunday's All-Star game in Los Angeles but proved he was worthy with 11 points, six rebounds and 13 assists in the game featuring the NBA's best rookies and second-year players.

"I think the future is in good hands with the players that are coming through now," Simmons said.

"Great young talent on both teams."

World guard Bogdan Bogdanovich had 26 points on the back of seven of 13 three-point attempts and six assists to be named game MVP.

His Sacramento Kings teammate Buddy Hield scored 29 points as eight World players reached double figures.

USA and Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown had 35 points to lead all scorers while LA Lakers rookie Kyle Kuzma added 20.

Simmons's 76ers teammate Joel Embiid, who will play in Monday's All-Star game played just nine minutes and scored five points, including a sweet spin move that resulted in a ferocious dunk.

The World raced to a 78-59 lead by halftime and were never headed.

"Our objective was to win and to come out and dominate them," Simmons said.

The game was full of alley-oops and three-pointers while defence was almost non-existent, a norm for such games.

The Indiana Pacers' Domantas Sabonis played in the game two decades after his father, Lithuanian centre Arvydas Sabonis played in a Rising Stars match.
