The course, is in line with the framework for the implementation of the Confederation of African Volleyball’s (CAVB) Strategic Plan aimed at developing, spreading and to activate volleyball and beach volley in the continent.

According to Madam Christine Ashley, Secretary General of GVA, the president of CAVB President, Dr Amr Elwani, has an agenda of decentralising the game and making it popular on the continent.

She said, the resource person for the course is the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) instructor, Sherif El Shemerly from Egypt, who is also the chairman of the coaches’ commission of the CAVB.

Mr. Paul Atchoe - President of GVA, said volleyball is rising steadily adding that, he foresees Ghana dominating at the international level in the near future, since his administration has placed a priority on the development of the game.

He said the coaching course would help to develop more coaches for the association, who would spread across the country.

Mr. Atchoe said, his outfit would soon have a volleyball coach in most schools as part of efforts to unearth more talents.
