A statement issued by the Normalization Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) quoted unnamed officials of Inter as saying Asamoah's knee injury "has been intermittent and there is the need to seek urgent medical attention".
However, the 29-year-old was on Wednesday pictured alongside other Inter Milan players who are not on international duty jogging in training.
Asamoah reportedly had a swollen knee in the aftermath of Inter's 4-1 away loss against Atlanta in the Italian Serie A on Sunday but showed no ill effects yesterday as he was put through his paces by Inter coach Luciano Spalleti.
Asamoah and his Inter teammates including Radja Nainggolan, Keita Balde, Borja Valero and Samir Handanovi? participated in some gym and pitch drills.
