Charles Kwablan Akornor, head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has left out experience midfielders Jordan Opoku and Daniel Nii Adjei from his traveling party, to face Cameroonian champions Cotton Sports De Garoua in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederations Cup match on Sunday.
Coach Akornor, has called back into the team, midfielders Stephen Nyarko and Prince Acquah to fill in the gap.
The former Ghanaian international, has also dropped Guinean import Naby Keita from the 18-man squad to Cameroon.
Coach Akornor, has been under intense pressure from fans in Kumasi to improve the team’s play, following a dismal performance from his men in their J.A Kufuor Cup match against regional rivals Ashgold.
The Fabulous lads, are the only Ghanaian side in any continental club competition this year.
Ahead of the game to be played in Yaounde on Sunday, January13, the team would depart Ghana on Friday through Togo to Cameroon.
Kotoko reached the second stage of the 2018/19 CAF Confederations Cup, after knocking Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 on aggregate.
With the second leg scheduled for a week later, the record Ghana Premier League champions need to defeat their opponents in the two-legged affair to secure a group stage place in the competition.
