The Ghana national rugby team, the Ghana Eagles, held a training session at the University of Ghana Rugby field yesterday in preparation towards
their friendly game against Cote d’Ivoire on Saturday, the 11th of May, 2019 at the Nduom Sports Stadium in Elmina.
The Ghana Eagles, ranked among the top 10 countries in Africa, will use Saturday's friendly to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the budding talents, who are determined to continue their recent success after winning their first-ever major trophy, the 2018 Africa Bronze Cup.
According to the President of the Ghana Rugby Association, Mr. Herbert Mensah, the game against Cote d'Ivoire is considered the most appropriate because of the Ivorians’ current top form and World Cup experience.
The Ghana Eagles are scheduled to play a few more friendly games before the start of the their next tournament later this year.
