Opportunity International Servings and Loans (OISL), has supported Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe, Ghana’s leading para athlete, with an undisclosed financial package, to aid his preparations for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic and Africa Games in Morocco.
The company, made the donation on Wednesday, June 12, after the athlete won gold in the100m T54 champion and African record holder from the Desert Challenge in Arizona, United States of America (USA), last month.
Mr. Kwame Owusu Boateng, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of OISL, said the para-athlete was a customer with the company, adding that he was proud of his achievements, hence the need to support his efforts.
Mrs. Vivian Akofa Mottey, Head of Transformation said, Opportunity International was a bank for everyone including persons with disability.
"We believe that even persons with disabilities can also contribute to national development and also have impact in the society and the achievements of Mr. Nkegbe, is a demonstration of what they can do,” she said.
Nkegbe, expressed appreciation to the financial institution and promised to win two gold medals at the upcoming World Para Athletic Grand Prix to be held in Germany and France in the month of August.
