The competition was organised to identify talents for the national team and also serve as preparations for top athletes ahead of international competitions.
Rosemary Arthur of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) emerged winner of the women's 1,500m in a time of 4:58.36 minutes ahead of her closest rival and CAF teammate, Wasila Ibrahim (5:15.73 minutes).

Daniel Otibo of the Ghana Revenue Authority (Customs Division) won the men's 400m race in a time of 49.44s ahead of Israel Domey Anane and Etiam Kwaku Togbenu.
In the men's 100m sprints, John Kofi Osei of GAF clocked 11.06 seconds to win the race ahead of Isaac Botsio and Solomon Kwaku Hammond respectively.

Other winners

The GAF enjoyed more successes in the field events as Alhassan Adams won the men's high jump with a leap of 1.95 metres, with Bright Tsatsu and John Brefo settling for the second and third positions respectively.

In the long jump, Otchere Mensah leapt 6.93 metres to finish ahead of Nti Ransford (6.78m) and Joseph Adumah (6.63m), while Emmanuel Okai of GAF won the men's triple jump.

Other winners on the day were Seth Kokuro Asante (shot put), Mohammed Habila (discus throw) and Benjamin Numo (javelin).

In the women's division, Rebecca Aggrey won the high jump, with Theresa Osei (long jump), Aba Sam (triple jump), Faustina Owusu (discus throw) and Comfort Otubea (javelin) as winners in their respective fields.
