ACCRA Hearts of Oak's Congolese duo of Glid Otanga and Linda Mtange are among 17 players the club wishes to offload to pave the way for new players.
The two, who joined the club two seasons ago, have not made the desired impact as expected by the club and would want to let them go.
While some players are leaving because they secured deals with other clubs, other players are on the transfer list because they could not make the needed impact by the club.
Salim Adams, who recently returned from a brief stint with FC Cincinnati in the USA, has signed with Sudanese side Al-Hilal Omdurman. Additionally, Ibrahim Salifu, the club’s influential midfielder, who chose not to renew his contract, has now joined FC Drita in Kosovo.
Several other players are also on their way out, including Enock Asubonteng, Nurudeen Abdul Aziz, Evans Adomako, Issa Kuka, Zakaria Yakubu and Levetius Arthur.
The goalkeeping duo of Richmond Ayi and Richard Attah, as well as Kwadwo Osei Bonsu, Sherif Shuab, Thomas Winimi, and skipper Kofi Agbesima, are also set to leave the club.
This significant reshuffle is part of Hearts of Oak’s strategy to build a stronger and more competitive team for the upcoming season. The club's management is keen on bringing in fresh talent to bolster their squad and improve their chances of success in domestic and international competitions.
