The former West Bromwich Albion player scored in Coventry’s 3-0 win over Preston North End in the EFL Championship.
The result keeps Coventry in first place with a six point lead over second placed Middlesbrough.
Despite a brilliant start to the 2025-2026 season, Thomas-Asante’s midseason form took a hit after dealing with injuries and a three game suspension but Lampard shared in an interview with Coventry’s media that,
“That’s- scoring goals-what he gave us right early in the season and he’s obviously had his injury and then came back and suspension so it’s been a bit broken for him since then but I’ve got a lot of faith and love for Brandon working with him everyday.”

“It was a good game for him to come into at home here…and I thought he dealt with it well and getting his goal as the game went on, I liked him more, his power, his reaction always to try and press and he’s got that power and speed about him.”
In 25 games, Thomas-Asante has 11 goals and four assists in the Championship.
