Groupe Nduom (GN) Bank on Tuesday opened a new branch at Abura Dunkwa in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region to provide close-to-client banking services.
The Abura Dunkwa branch is the 32nd in the Central Region and brings the number to 300 branches across the country, the widest spread retail bank in the country.
The bank also has eight branches in Liberia, a branch each in Togo and Ivory Coast and would open branches in Burkina Faso, Benin and other West African countries.
Speaking at the opening, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, President of Groupe Nduom said its vision was to make GN Bank the biggest Ghanaian owned bank in the country to offer financial support to cushion the country in times of difficulties.
This, he believed could save the nation from seeking financial assistance from bodies like the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other foreign countries.
Dr Nduom asked Ghanaians to support local banks to remain formidable and competitive on the financial market so that it could support the government and Ghanaian entrepreneurs.
He encouraged the people to open accounts with the Bank and take advantage of its numerous products which included GN Mobile money and e-banking.
“GN bank is for Ghanaians. We believe in Ghana and the Ghanaian systems and remain committed to investing in our country”. He said.
He admonished the staff to work diligently for the bank to grow further.
Nana Munko Eku VIII,Abura Ansofona Omankrado commended Dr Nduom for the vision and pledged the support of the community.
He admonished the staff to be courteous ,develop good attitude towards work and be more concerned about customer care as the business of banking was about customers.
