In a heartwarming celebration of Mother's Day, MTN Ghana announced the winner of its recent promo, with Emmanuel Ekow Acquah emerging as the overall winner. As part of the prize, his mother, Madam Mary Owusu, would embark on a trip to Dubai courtesy of Emirates. The Mother's Day promo was launched on May 10th, 2025, giving customers a chance to show appreciation for their mothers while also standing a chance to win exciting prizes.
According to Sandra Oduro Antwi, Senior Specialist in Consumer Marketing at MTN Ghana, the Mother's Day promo was a huge success, with customers showing a lot of enthusiasm for the offer. "We launched MTN Rewards Mother's Day promo on the 10th of May for women and our mothers on our network, and we saw that customers were really happy with the promo," she said. The promo was part of MTN's Rewards platform, which allowed customers to redeem points for voice, data, and lifestyle offers.
According to Cecil Tenkorang, Emirates' Sales Manager for Ghana and Ivory Coast, the partnership between Emirates and MTN Ghana was built on a shared commitment to delivering exceptional value to customers. "Our collaboration with MTN Ghana is a true reflection of that shared commitment," he said. Since 2014, Emirates had worked closely with MTN to extend exclusive offers and travel opportunities to many MTN customers across Ghana.
Sharon Antwi, Manager for Customer Loyalty at MTN Ghana, provided more details on the promo, explaining that customers had to download the My MTN App and redeem exclusive offers to be eligible for the prize. "We launched Mother's Day campaign on the 10th of May, 2025, and as part of the campaign, we decided to reward customers with electronics and MTN branded souvenirs," she said. The winner was determined by the highest points used in redeeming the various items.
Emmanuel Ekow Acquah, the winner, expressed his excitement and gratitude for the prize. "I'm so happy, I'm so excited for this big win, and it's not just for me, but for the whole family," he added. Emmanuel, a software engineering and electrical engineering student, attributed his win to his consistent use of the MTN Rewards platform, often accumulating points while watching anime and attending online classes. He advised others to save their points for higher-priced rewards. Seven other winners also went home with various gifts from MTN Ghana.
