A joint film show organised by the China and Czech embassies in Ghana has been held in Accra.
The occasion which was used to screen the movie “Somewhere Only We Know” was also to deepen relations between the two sister countries.
The Tourism, Culture and Creature Arts Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Chinese Ambassador Sun Baohong and the Czech Ambassador, Margita Fuchsova were present.
Also present were representatives from both embassies, government officials and a cross section of the officials and a cross section of the public.
They watched a film that was based on a Chinese story in Prague, the capital city of Czech.
In a welcome address, Madam Baohong, recalled the long standing relationship between the China and their Czech counterparts.
“China and Czech, though apart enjoy strong bonds of friendship. Our cultural and people-to-people exchanges and cooperation are especially eye-catching,” she said.
The Chinese Ambassador said, Prague had become one of the favourite destinations for Chinese tourists with 300,000 Chinese visiting the Czech Republic last year.
Mrs Ofosu-Agyare commended the two countries for the show of friendship and expressed the hope that very soon Ghanaian film talents would co-produce with Chinese and Czech film producers, directors and actors to further cement the ties between Ghana and the two sister nations,China and the Czech Republic.
On her part, the Czech Ambassador, Madam Fuchsova, acknowledged that the cultural exchange between the two countries was expanding.
She praised the organisers of the movie night and commended the film makers for choosing Prague for the production of the film.
