The three-day event will also witness presentations from radio and TV personality, Berla Mundi, broadcast journalist Anita Akua Akuffo and TV3’s Business and Financial Desk head, Nana Akua Mensah-Aborampah.
The event will open with the "Boss Babe Inspiration Seminar", an initiative to engage celebrities and fashion influencers to educate patrons on how to avoid fake and expensive lifestyles on social media.
Proceedings continue on Friday, December 13, with a fashion show at the Palace Mall where up and coming fashion designers will get the chance to show their creative works such as shoes, accessories, and dresses in a runway exhibition.
Among the designers to exhibit their artistic African designs are Chez Julie, A-Z Department, Women’s Secret, Springfield, LN Watch, JayRay and Ghartey Fashionhauz.
There will also be a Fashion Masterclass at the African Regent Hotel on Saturday, December 14. Expected to start at 7 a.m., the Masterclass will bring together all the relevant players and everyone who matters in the world of fashion to share ideas and network.
CEO of KASH Boutique Karen Kash Kane; fashion designer Henry K. Ghartey; academic/fashion head BCC Amit Chotari; director of LN Watches Lunga Ntuli; fashion photographer Frozzen and fashion blogger Monte Oz will be some of the speakers.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday to announce activities, the CEO of Sp3sh Africa, Mandy-Louis said the main focus of the event was to bring together stakeholders in the fashion fraternity.
“There are many challenges but it seems there is no common platform for players to channel them and that is what Sp3sh Africa hopes to achieve, to give creative people including makeup artistes the chance to voice out their challenges and learn how to overcome their limitations.
“Besides, research estimates that the US adaptive clothing market was worth $44.5 billion in 2018 and will be worth 51.8 billion by 2022.
"This shows the growth of the industry and we are the fashion revolution; designers, academics, writers, business leaders, policy makers, brands, retailers, marketers, producers and fashion lovers making the difference,” she stated.
