Somali pirates have released a Greek-flagged tanker they had seized earlier, the Greek Coast Guard said on Monday.
All 28 crew members of the vessel Maran Centaurus, including nine Greeks, 16 Filipinos, two Ukrainians and a Romanian, have been released and are in good health, the Coast Guard said.
The vessel, which is owned by Athens-based Maran Navigation, is en route to South Africa at the moment, said the Coast Guard.
The pirates reportedly released the ship after receiving a ransom of 5.5 to 7 million euros (8 to 10 U.S. dollars).
The Maran Centaurus was hijacked 700 nautical miles off Somali coast on Nov. 29, 2009.
