Mr. Issifu Salisu Be-Awuribe, the District Chief Executive for Central Gonja, has received the keys for a GH¢147,000 kindergarten block built for the Assembly.
The four-unit classroom block is equipped with toilet facilities, bathrooms, head teacher's office and dining hall for the kids but
conspicuously lacking is recreational centre and furniture thatneeded to be provided to ensure that the children do not lie on their stomachs to study.
Mr. Felix Gandaa, the architect for the project who conducted officials of the Assembly round the block, attributed the delay in completing to the delay in payment to the contractor.
He advised the Assembly to include in the contract the provision of furniture and recreational centre, which were not part of the contract.
Mr. Be-Awuribe commended the contractors for the excellent work done and said the Assembly was concerned about education in the district and
would provide funds for furniture and recreational centre to enhance academic work.
He said there was also the need to build a fence wall to protect the children since the building was very close to the Buipe-Tamale highway.
Mr. Be-Awuribe assured the contractor that all contract funds would be paid.
