Parliament would soon pass the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Act into law, Chief Justice, Mrs. Georgina Theodora Wood said on Thursday.
She said after the passage, ADR Courts would be established by the end of the year to help clear backlog cases pending before the courts in the country.
The CJ announced this when she received a 45-member delegation from Lagos State Judiciary in Accra.
She explained that the ADR Courts would ensure that judges had ample time to deal with cumbersome cases before them.
The delegation comprising High Court Judges are in Ghana for a week's retreat to review General Civil Procedure Rules of the High Courts.
The CJ was happy that the Nigerian bench had sizeable number of women and asked the delegation to share their success story in that direction.
She tasked the delegation to revive the collaboration, which ensured that landmark decisions of Nigeria and Ghana's Supreme Courts were shared.
According to her, Ghana in most instances tapped some of those decisions in the administration of justice.
Mrs Justice Wood said to ensure good governance; Ghana had established two human rights courts in Accra and Kumasi to enforce decisions of the
Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), which carried out quasi-judicial functions.
The CJ said it had been her dream to establish a Family Justice Court Centre, which would take care of family issues adding Ghana could now boast of a Domestic Violence Court taking care of the needs of women and children.
According to her, she was going to consider Nigerian's establishment of two High Courts, which tackled issues concerning children.
Mrs Justice Ayo Philips, leader of the delegation, said Nigeria had established Fast Track Courts after learning from Ghana and the courts were steadily doing well.
She cited the filing of injunctions by lawyers as some of the challenges confronting the judiciary in Lagos.
Mrs Justice Philips said the retreat in Ghana was to enable her and colleague High Court Judges to take a break and re-strategies in terms of
the High Court Civil Procedure Rules.
She assured the CJ to revisit the exchange of Ghana and Nigerian Supreme Court decisions.
Mrs Justice Philips and Mrs Justice Wood exchanged picture frame gifts after observing a minute silence on the demise of Nigerian President Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar Adua.
Prayers were also said for his family and Nigeria.
