The Assin Foso District Magistrate Court on Tuesday sentenced Idrisu Mahamud of Assin Foso to a total of 36 months in jail for stealing.
The convict was found guilty of unlawful entry, stealing and conspiracy to commit crime.
Prosecuting, DSP Samuel Kwarteng Addae told the court presided over by Mr Joseph Blay that on March 6, 2010, the convict entered the room of Mr
Richard Asamoah and stole a bag containing 11 pairs of compact discs (CDs) valued at GH¢100.00, a pair of Jeans costing GH¢5.00, one T-shirt valued at
GH¢15.00, some documents and a cash of GH¢200.00 all totalling GHc320.00.
The prosecutor said on March 7, 2010 the accused was arrested and in the course of investigations he led the police to his hideout.
The police discovered cooking utensils, a knife, spoon, pepper, salt, plastic bucket, as well as three fowls which had been slaughtered and ready
for cooking at the hideout but the convict could not explain the source of the hens.
