The Assin Foso District Magistrate Court on Tuesday sentenced Thomas Kumedzina, a 40-year-old farmer from Assin Sobriso, to a fine of GH¢240 for stealing a sheep.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr Joseph Blay, also ordered the convict to pay a restitution fee of GH¢250 to the owner of the sheep, Mr Kwame Oware.
The convict who pleaded guilty to stealing, will go to jail for six months in default.
Prosecuting, DSP Samuel Kwarteng Addae told the court that sometime in February this year, the convict who lived in the same vicinity with Mr Oware stole the sheep.
Prosecution said upon a tip off, the convict was arrested and during interrogation, he admitted stealing the sheep and pleaded for leniency.
