Shaibu Abdulai, 50, a pupil teacher, has been remanded by a Krachi Magistrate Court for impersonating Mr Godwin Tetteh Seini, a tutor of the Dambai College of Education.
He stole Mr Seini's certificate and presented himself as Mr Seini.
Abdulai, whose plea was not taken, would re-appear on June 14.
Assistant Superintendent of Police F. S. Mensah told the court that Abdulai got access to Mr Seini's post teacher "A" certificate and decided to use it to pursue a distance education programme at the Dambai College of Education.
Mr Mensah said Mr Seini spotted his name amongst the list of applicants published on the College's notice board and suspected a foul deal.
He said Mr Seini found out that Abdulai was the brain behind the impersonation and demanded that he took measures to correct the fraud but he
rather swore an affidavit as the owner of the certificate.
Mr Seini reported the conduct of Abdulai to the police who arrested him.
