Demonstrating a unique way of creating mass awareness against sexual exploitation of children, a 26-year-old man from India's southern state Tamil Nadu climbed up to Mount Everest to spread his message.
Sandhosh Kumar, who hails from Chennai and employed in Singapore, scaled the world's tallest peak on May 23.
"I embarked on a mission to highlight the problem closest to my heart, that of child sexual abuse, which is especially prevalent in India, while I attempted to scale the highest mountain in the world," he wrote on his website.
His family friend Indira Vetrivel told PTI that Kumar had returned to the base camp at 5000 metres and was expected to return home later this week.
An avid mountaineer, Kumar also planted a banner saying 'Vazhga Tamil', meaning Hail Tamil, after reaching the summit.
