South Korea's heritage agency signed a copyright accord with Google, Inc. on Friday to operate a YouTube channel to broadcast images of Korean cultural relics and traditional art with English
subtitles.
The Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea's YouTube site, www.youtube.cokoreanheritage, opened a day earlier starting with images of the royal Gyeongbok Palace in Seoul, Sosoewon, a traditional garden in Damyang, the ancient capital of Gyeongju and "nongak," a traditional
percussion performance.
The service will also be provided through Google Street View, which enables users to see certain parts of the world through panoramic images, the heritage agency said.
