Right Reverend Fredrich Nnuro, Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church-Ghana, has urged girls in secondary schools to reciprocate the efforts of their parents by learning hard to pass their examinations.
He explained that it was not all girls who qualified to be in secondary school that get the privilege to be in school.
Rt. Rev Nnuro was preaching the sermon at the Kingsby Methodist Girls Senior High School at Adweso Calvary Methodist Church, a suburb of Koforidua on Friday.
Kingsby Methodist Girls Senior High School, a private school of the church, annually organizes the public service to share experiences and challenges of the school with members of the church.
Rt. Rev Nnuro urged the students to avoid bad companies to grow to become useful citizens to benefit their community and parents.
Ms Florence Asamoah, Headmistress of the School, said the school was established by the Methodist Church in 2004 to train girls to be
academically and morally sound for the development of the country.
She said as at now, 107 students had graduated from the school, many of whom were in tertiary institutions.
Ms Asamoah said the school currently had a student population of 122 and needed a school bus, an administration block, kitchen, dining hall and a wall around the school to help protect the students from external attacks.
