The Information Services Department in conjunction with the Disease Control Unit of the Ministry of Health has embarked on a week long tour to create awareness on Tuberculosis (TB) in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower Denkyira District.
During the tour, the team visited Jukwa, Heman, Mampong, Twifo Praso and Atti Morkwa in the district.
Mr. Sampson Joe Ofei, Principal Field Technical Officer, in charge of Jukwa, who addressed separate meetings at the various towns, said the disease is curable and medication is free.
He therefore urged people with the disease not to feel intimidated or shy but feel free to report to health care institutions for proper care and
treatment of the disease
Among the communication channels is a Film show depicting people living with the TB to enlighten the public on the symptoms and management of the disease.
