The World Vision Ghana (WVG), an international non-governmental organisation (NGO), on Friday donated relief items to flood victims in Ga West Municipality at Amasman.
The items made up of 104 mattresses, 88 mats, 192 blankets and 93 insecticides treated mosquito nets to the victims at Afiaman, Oduman and Medie.
Mr Joseph Adasi-Bekoe, Manager of Greater Accra Area Development Project, presenting the items, said that it was part of the NGO�s social
responsibilities to the society.
Mr Alfred E. Commey-Tetteh, Ga West Municipal Coordinator of National Disaster Management Organisation, received the items on behalf of the
victims, and thanked World Vision for its gesture and advised the people to refrain from building on waterways.
He appealed to the people to adhere to the rules governing the issuance of building permits and called on individuals and organisations to assist in rehabilitating the victims.
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to helping children and communities world-wide to
acquire their full potential.
It also improves the health of children, basic education, spiritual and emotional life, ensures protection from abuse, violence neglect and
exploitation.
World Vision began operations in Ghana in 1975 and implemented programmes in all the 10 Regions.
