The Bishop of the Cape Coast Methodist Diocese, Right Reverend Nicholas K. Asane, on Saturday advised the youth to be patient and not to rush, in their quest to make it in life, because this could jeopardize their future.
He exhorted them to be patient, trust in God and depend on him in all their endeavours while they worked hard to achieve their set goals
Bishop Asane made the call at a special church service, organized to dedicate a new church building for the Rev. Gaddiel R. Acquaah Memorial Methodist at Abakrampa, in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese district of the Central Region.
He asked them to endeavour to build their spiritual life and assist in growing the church through their active participation of its activities and pointed out that, God shall provide for them in His own appointed time, adding that, God has the power to transform every situation to their advantage.
Bishop Asane further urged the leadership as well as the congregation not to take activities of the church for granted but revere its sacredness and worship God in truth at all times.
He said they should be disciplined and lead Godly lives for others to emulate while contributing their quota towards the development and growth of the church.
He asked them to ensure that the edifice was well maintained and its environment cleaned at all times.
The Superintendent Minister of Rev. Gaddiel R. Acquaah Memorial Methodist Chapel, Very Reverend Alfred Appiah Andam said the church
building, which started in 1973, was completed shortly before his assumption of office.
He said due to the increasing number of the congregation, it became necessary to put up a structure that can accommodate the "ever growing
members" and emphasized that "it is important that the temple of God be raised to an appreciable standard because God is Supreme".
Rev. Andam expressed concern about the high unemployment rate in the area, which had contributed to the massive exodus of the youth of the church to other areas to seek greener pastures, and suggested that innovative measures were taken by the church to address the issue.
He called on all to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and also make time to worship him in His house.
