The Member of Parliament of Cape Coast Mr. Ebo Barton-Odro, has appealed to parents and guardians in the metropolis to take keen interest in their children and wards' education.
He expressed regret that most often children are neglected while parents spend huge amounts of money on unnecessary things.
Mr Barton-Odro, who is also the Deputy Minister of Justice and Attorney General, said this at the outdooring of the chief of Nkanfoa near Cape Coast, Nana Anafo IX at Nkafoa.
He said a vocational school would be built at Nkanfoa to enable the youth from the area to gain employable skills.
Mr Barton-Odro therefore appealed to the people to rally behind the new chief to help develop the area.
Nana Anafo called for cooperation and discipline especially among the youth and said he would revive communal spirit among the people.
He said he would focus on the poor drainage system in the area to prevent floods during the raining season.
Nana Anafo pledged to ensure the completion of a community centre, a clinic and library which were being constructed through his initiative.
