The Police Administration on Monday urged Muslims, especially the youth, to cooperate with the Police to maintain law and order during Tuesday's Eidul-Adha celebrations.
A statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Kwesi Ofori, appealed to the youth to avoid driving recklessly, sitting on top vehicles and riding unregistered motorbikes at the peril of their lives and those of other road users.
The statement said the police have put into effect a contingency plan to ensure that Muslims celebrate the festivities in a peaceful atmosphere.
It said the Police would be out in their numbers on patrol duties, especially in Muslim communities, to ensure that the lives and property of celebrants are protected and that criminals do not disturb them.
It asked celebrants to channel any information pertaining to crime to the Police through its Crime-fighters numbers 0302-773695, 0302-773906, or MTN short code 18555 for prompt response.
The Police Administration wished Muslims Barka Da Sallah.
