Mr Daniel Appau Ohyeamang, the Municipal Chief
Executive of Asante-Mampong, on Tuesday joined hundreds of Muslims in the municipality to celebrate the Eid-ul-Adha with a call on them to help sustain the prevailing peace in country.
This, they should do, by accepting to live in peace with all and ensure religious tolerance.
He said it should not be lost on anyone that Ghana could achieve meaningful socio-economic progress only when the people are united and make the needed sacrifices.
Mr Ohyeamang asked Muslims to continue to pray to Allah for the nation's development.
The Asante-Mampong Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission, Alhaji Suhununu, advised Muslims to desist from activities that could mar the celebration of the festival of sacrifice.
He said there was the need for them to be generous to the poor and the socially disadvantaged as they marked the event.
