The Anglican Diocese of Kumasi has urged the Government to engage civil society and other developmental organizations to fashion out an all inclusive national development agenda.
This, the church said, would ensure consistency in implementation of development policies and programmes.
The Right Reverend Dr Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, the Diocesan Bishop, said it was disheartening that the nation's development priorities seemed to shift with every new political administration.
He was speaking at the 15th Diocesan Synod of the Church at its hostel at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.
It is being held under the theme, "God's People for God's Mission -Stewardship".
The Rt Rev Dr Yinkah Sarfo said it was important more attention was focused on tackling the soaring youth unemployment.
"We are of the view that the growing crime wave in the country is as a result of the dire
unemployment situation."
On the drilling of the nation's gas and oilfields he called on the government to make sure that there was transparency in the management of the expected revenue to enable the entire nation to benefit from the resource.
"Now that Parliament has given approval to the use of the oil revenue as collateral, our appeal to the government is that this arrangement should not be abused," he said.
