Mr Andrew Badu Yeboah, Educationist and immediate past District Director of Education of Jaman District, has advised students to take their studies seriously for a better future.
“The main catalyst for improved and comfortable living is by dint of hard work and proper management,” he said.
Mr Yeboah was addressing members of the Jaman South Students Union (JASSU) during their week celebration dubbed; “First JASSU Week Celebration, 2010/2011”
It was under the theme: “Quality Education, An Indispensable Tool for Sustainable Development”.
The week-long celebration, which was climaxed on January 1 with a grand durbar and dinner dance included clean-up exercises, a float, symposia and fund games.
Mr Yeboah urged students not to attempt to acquire wealth through dubious means saying the repercussions would be very disastrous and that they should be content with what their parents provided for them.
Mr Yaw Maama Afful, Member of Parliament for Jaman South, called for proper co-ordination, tolerance and the establishment of good and healthy rapport among students and authorities.
He promised to continue with the provision of scholarships to brilliant students in the area and advised the people to tolerate divergent opinions on the political landscape to enable peace, harmony and tranquillity to prevail.
Mr Kwaku Apraku Tanor, life patron of the students’ body, asked the students to be law-abiding and to channel their grievances through the appropriate quarters for redress.
Mr Samuel Asumah, President of JASSU, called on students to lead exemplary lives worthy of emulation and urged the District Assembly to address constraints encountered by needy students.
