A three-day revival rally by the Ghana Evangelical Society is underway in Accra with the theme, ”The Garment of Praise and Power”.
The rally whose venue is at the open square of the Accra Community Centre, adjacent the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, commences at 1800 hours daily from Wednesday January 5, to Friday January 7, 2011.
A release signed by Brother Enoch Immanuel Agbozo, head of the Society, and issued to the press in Accra on Wednesday, said the Revival sought to achieve two objectives.
The first among them was the restoration of “the disconnect between Christ and the Church” – the Church having deviated from Christ as the Spirit Foundation, Identity and Message of the Church, the statement said.
“As a result, other gospels have emerged in the Church which have no bearing with the Spirit of Christ, The Truth of the Gospel and the Goal of Christ redemption mission in nations and His Messianic kingdom mission on earth.”
It said the other reason was to invite people to enter into the Ark (Christ) to receive fresh anointing for life, mission and ministry.
The release explained that the Ghana Evangelical Society was a Non-Denominational Evangelistic para-church movement with an Evangelical-Pentecostal-Charismatic persuasion.
Its mission included the fostering of unity in the Church, and the Evangelization of Ghana, Africa and the world.
The release further indicated that the Society had been in the forefront of the Reconciliation, Redemption and Restoration of Ghana on her Christian foundation, and had been responsible for the rise of the Evangelical/Pentecostal/Charismatic Church in the country and beyond.
