The national chairman-elect of the Association of the Methodist Men’s Fellowship, Mr George Omane, has renewed the Fellowship’s commitment towards assisting the Church to embed in society cherished values of integrity and discipline.
The Association goal, he said, is to build a vibrant, spirit-filled and spiritual men’s organization within the Church for the transformation of society.
Mr Omane said the Association also seeks to unite the men in the church to be in fellowship with Jesus Christ, themselves and to be at the forefront of holistic evangelism and discipleship.
He was speaking at the inauguration and induction service for the executives of the Mount Olivet Methodist Church’s Men Fellowship at Apatrapa New site, near Kumasi on Sunday.
Mr Omane reminded the new officers to uphold Christian virtues of love and unity, adding that they should be accountable and transparent.
He said the executives should support the Church’s policies and measures to prevent abuses.
Mr Omane asked them to provide the right leadership and to carry themselves in a way that would enable them to become good examples to society.
Mr Bright Osei-Agyemang, Kumasi Diocesan Chairman of the Fellowship, said an umbrella association of Christian Men’s Fellowship, made up of the various Fellowships of the orthodox churches in the Kumasi Metropolis had been formed.
It comprises those of the Methodist, Presbyterian, Assemblies of God, Anglican, and Pentecost churches and would be formally inaugurated soon at the Amakom Calvary Methodist Church in Kumasi.
He called for co-operation between the Fellowship and other organisations in the Church, saying the men should not neglect their responsibilities since they were the bed-rock of the Church.
Very Reverend Kingsley Kyei-Baffour, Superintendent Minister of the Asuoyeboa Circuit of the Church, called for hard work to sustain the Fellowship.
He said they should see to the formation of the Fellowship in all branches of the Church.
