Mr Abednego Aduffo Asani, an educationist has appealed to the chiefs and landlords of Akuapem South Municipality in the Eastern Region, to offer lands for educational projects to complement government efforts to promote teaching and learning.
Mr Asani, who is the Principal of Royal Stars International Basic School at Amoahkrom near Nsawam made the appeal during a Parents-Teacher Association meeting on Tuesday.
He said since education was key to development, parents and guardians should take advantage of government’s free educational programme to send their children to school, so that they could become useful citizens.
Mr Aduffo Asani who spoke to the Ghana News Agency asked the Ghana Education Service to come to the aid of the school.
He said the school, which was the only educational facility in the area serve Sakyikrom, Sabuzongo, Adoagyiri and parts of Nsawam.
The school has 19 classrooms with a pupil population of 751.
Mr Asani said his long term plan was to construct a Senior High School and appealed to the government, public-spirited individuals and organisations to come to his aid.
