The New Juaben Municipality Education Service has registered 2,753 pupils to write the Basic
Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) which is slated for April.
In all, 83 schools, out of which 55 are public ones and the remaining 28 being private, will see a total of 1,379 boys and 1,374 girls taking part in the BECE in April.
The Municipal Director of Education, Mr Augustus Nii Lante Cleland, told the GNA that to ensure that the pupils were well prepared, for the examination, they had joined 48 other districts to
undertake a District Mock Examination which began on February 07 and would end on February 11.
He said this was to test the pupils’ capability and to give them confidence.
The pupils will write the examination in English Language, Social Studies, Integrated Science, Mathematics and Basic Design and Technology.
The other subjects included, Religious and Moral Education, Ghanaian Language, French (optional) and Information and Communication Technology.
Mr Cleland advised all pupils to be serious with their books, especially as they prepare for their papers and also urged them to avoid examination malpractices.
