The Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon, and Aburi Girls Senior High School have donated items and GH¢ 1,732 to the Akyem Osenase Orphanage.
Items included bags of rice, cooking oil, used clothes, toiletries, tinned fish, provisions, drinks, books and first aid drugs.
Making the donation the President of the Students Representative Council of PRESEC, Mr Isaac Boakye, appealed to philanthropists, non-government organizations and churches to assist orphanages.
Mr Boakye appealed to the caretakers of the orphanage to have patience when dealing with the children.
“The donations are for our younger brothers and sisters, so let them enjoy them”, he said.
Nana Ofosuhene II, Osenasehene, commended the students for their sense of patriotism and said the gesture was worth emulating.
Reverend Freeman Yeboah, Director in charge of the orphanage, expressed his profound gratitude to the students for the donation.
