Mr Alban S.K. Bagbin, Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing on Friday inaugurated a nine- member Board of the National Board of Control for Building Technicians and Draughtsmen to supervise activities relating to the sector.
In addition, the Board would promote the enforcement of National Building Regulation 1996 (LI 1630), all building bye-laws and come out with appropriate course of study, qualification standards and code of conduct.

He however commended stakeholders in the sector for their numerous contributions towards the country’s socio-economic development.
“The sector offers one of the largest avenues for gainful employment in any economy and generate one of the greatest external economies,” he noted.
Mr Bagbin pledged the Ministry’s commitment towards reshaping the training and education of practitioners and scholars so that they could effectively meet the challenges of the rapidly urbanising cities.
Mrs Stella Arthiaba, Chairperson of the Committee, expressed appreciation to the Government for the trust reposed in them and pledged to work for the benefit of stakeholders.
