Three communities in the East Akim Municipality have appealed to the Department of Feeder Roads and the Municipal Assembly to reshape their link roads.
Mr Gawi Mawuko, a teacher and spokesperson for the communities said the people of Kwesi Komfo, Aposs and Okanta, find it extremely
difficult to travel from their communities to the commercial centres, because the only feeder road connecting the localities was in a worse condition.
He described the three-mile Ateibu road in the
Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District, Kwesi Komfo in the East Akim Municipality as unmotorable and a death-trap.
Mr Mawuko said the road was hilly, slippery, undulating and without drains, compelling some commercial drivers to withdraw their services on the route.
He noted that teachers, children and other prospective travellers had to walk long distances to their destinations, while farmers could not cart their foodstuff to marketing centres.
