At least 8 persons including a wanted notorious chieftain of the Boko Haram sect have been arrested by then police in northern Nigeria's Kaduna State over last Friday's bomb explosion that rocked the state.
State commissioner of police John Haruna disclosed this at a news conference on Saturday in Kaduna.
He told reporters that the police also recovered from the scene of the bomb blast the corpse of one of the suspects, Ismail Ibrahim who was
killed in the explosion in addition to eight sophisticated and locally made rifles and pistols and a flag of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).
The police chief said its anti-bomb squad also recovered from the building used by the suspected bombers for their nefarious acts, three highly charged locally made bombs which were capable of causing massive destruction.
According to Haruna, the Boko Haram kingpin arrested along with the other seven suspects over the bomb blast had been on the wanted list
of the police for alleged crimes his religious group earlier committed in Bauchi and Borno states.
The police boss said his men, operatives of the State Security Service and the military were already conducting a joint investigation into the incident while a high powered team of experts and specialists constituted by the Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim would soon arrive to take over the case for further action with a view to fishing out the other members of the terrorist groups as well as their sponsors.
This is the fourth bomb blast that has occurred in the state in less than a month.
