A woman on her way to a Pennsylvania hospital to deliver twins didn't quite make it -- the first baby was born in the car, officials said.
Danielle Bowers, 27, and her fiance called 911 about 1:55 a.m. Sunday as they traveled to West Penn Hospital in Bloomfield, and about a minute later a 6-pound, 8-ounce baby girl they named Sasha arrived, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported.
Medics responding to the emergency call then transported Bowers and her newborn the rest of the way to West Penn.
A second daughter, 5-pound, 8-ounce Sevira, was delivered about a half hour later, hospital spokeswoman Jennifer Davis said.
"Everyone is doing well," she told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
