Residents of Oboadaka in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District of the Eastern Region spent a number of hours during the weekend to cleanup the town.
Led by Nene Tettey, Elder of the community, the group tidied up the boreholes in the town, cleared weeds and garbage and desilted choked gutters.
Nene Tettey told the Ghana News Agency that the exercise was aimed at supplementing the efforts of the District Assembly, to maintain a clean environment.
He announced plans by the Town Development Committee to improve sanitation in the area.
