Mobile Telecommunication Network, Vodafone Ghana, has launched a new campaign dubbed Vision In Motion (VIM) to empower the Ghanaian youth.The programme, which is aimed at equipping young and talented Ghanaians through entrepreneurial skills, would educate the youth to improve on their own businesses.
Madam Agnes Emefa Essah, Marketing Director of Vodafone Ghana, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said VIM initiative would equip young people with knowledge and motivation to enhance their skills.
She said the initiative would be carried out through weekly motivational video clips with voices, and a series of educational and self-development videos on seven main courses including T-shirt printing, soap making, beauty therapy, fashion, baking, juice making and décor.
“Vodafone VIM will also offer unequalled minutes for calls to Vodafone and other networks, in addition to data for browsing the internet. It will also touch the lives of over 100 loyal customers per quarter in various vocational courses,” she said.
Participants would be awarded with certificates and essential working tools to enable them to succeed in their respective areas. Madam Essah noted that the programme was targeting people involved in small-scale trading as well as those looking for opportunities.
“Vodafone VIM has been designed to meet the specific needs of people, who are looking to put their energy to good use and satisfy their passion,” she said. Mr. Julius Owusu-Kyerematen, Head of Segment Marketing, Vodafone, explained that subscription cost for Vodafone VIM is GHC3.00 and comes with GHC55 worth of minutes of call time to only Vodafone numbers, GHC1.30 worth of minutes to call any other network, and 300MB data for internet for seven days.
He said participants could win fully paid professional training and working tools by staying active on the offer, but must have finished viewing all the tutorial videos for a minimum of 12 weeks.
