Mr Bakari Sadiq Nyari, the Former Director of Public Land at the weekend advised Citizens to uphold transparency, accountability and integrity in the land sector to end corruption.
He said stakeholders and opinions leader’s also needed to play critical roles to address corruption in land issues.
Mr Nyari who was also the Board Chairman of the Northern Regional Lands Commission gave the advice during a multi-stakeholders dialogue on regional land forum in Tamale.
The event was to make contributions to improve livelihoods of men and women of all generations and reverse the activities that adversely affected land administration.
Mr Nyari indicated that there was the need to introduce modern methods in land administration to develop a new legal infrastructure that ensure transparent and efficient land system in the county.
Mr Charles Agana, the Northern Regional Land Valuation Division of Land Commission urged citizens not to pay more than GHC450.000 as land registering fees.
He said the public should not give their documents and money to the connection people but rather deal with the Lands Commission personnel for proper documentation.
