The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Volta/Oti branch has presented locally made nose masks and sanitizers to journalists to stop the spread of COVID-19.
The nose masks were presented to the Association by Madam Dzifa Attivor, Chief Executive Officer of V1TV/Global FM, a Ho-based media house.
The CEO also gave the Association some sanitizers and two handwashing stations.
This was after Mr Dela Gadzanku, Volta, Eastern and Oti Regional Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries and an honourary member of GJA-Volta presented cartons of sanitizers to the Association.
After distributing the items to journalists, including those on retirement, the Association presented one hand washing station and some sanitizers to Togbe Edem III, Tufia of Adaklu-Tsrefe in the Adaklu District.
Mr A.B. Kafui Kanyi, Chairman, GJA- Volta, said the gesture was the Association's "small way of reaching out to others to kick out COVID-19."
"We don't have much. These are items given us by friends of the media but we know others need them too, hence our decision to share with you, your visitors and subjects," he said.
Mr Kanyi encouraged the chief and people in the community to comply with the President's directive against social gathering and go by all health protocols.
Togbe Edem expressed gratitude to GJA for the gesture, and promised to ensure that the items were put to good use.
He promised to continue to sensitise the community folks on the need to observe the World Health Organization's safety protocols to avoid the spread of the virus and also ensure that they complied with the President's directives.
