World Vision Ghana on signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the implementation of Transforming Household Resilience in Vulnerable Environments (THRIVE2030 Programme.
The partnership involved World Vision Ghana (WVG) VisionFund Ghana (VFG) Farm Concern International (FCI) Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) Fairtrade Africa Pangea Africa and Esoko
The project aims to strengthen household resilience, increase incomes and promote sustainable livelihoods through inclusive market systems and knowledge access (iMKA).
The MoU formalized a collaboration to drive inclusive and innovative approaches in economic empowerment, climate resilience, digital transformation, and capacity building across Ghana's rural and peri-urban communities.
The project will cover 14 districts of seven administrative regions.
It is targeted at 400.000 households in the selected 14 districts.
In a welcoming address before the signing ceremony, Mr Jean Claude Mukadi, Acting National Director of WVG said through the partnership, the organizations would commit to jointly implement activities that aligned with THRIVE 2030 objectives and to leverage each other's unique strengths for broader, deeper impact.
"Households and communities will build improved, resilient, and sustainable livelihoods for child well-being." He said the strategic objective was to establish the Foundations to catalyse the Move Out of Poverty, influence behaviour change and household transformation to an empowered worldview, have access to financial services for Savings for Transformation (S4T) groups and to accompany Entrepreneurial Households Up the Economic Ladder It is also to provide access to finance via FAST loans and microfinance products accessible. It will also support household income through inclusive Market Systems Development (IMSD), enable Investment for Quality Assurance and accelerate programme impact
The partnership believes that continuous learning would enhance programme delivery World Vision Ghana (WVG) Lead organization implementing THRIVE 2030 is to address root causes of poverty and improve child well-being. VisionFund Ghana (VFG).
Will provide microfinance services including loans and insurance to empower vulnerable caregivers, primarily women. Farm Concern International (FCI) is a Technical partner specializing in market development, digital ecosystems, and would provide capacity building, and market research, while Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX), would facilitate market linkages through its digital trading platform for agricultural commodities.
In the same partnership, Fairtrade Africa would ensure ethical trading and sustainability for producers, providing fair pricing and safe working conditions, while Pangea Africa will support entrepreneurial development through mentorship, funding, and business networks, with Esoko
delivering real-time agronomic advisories and market data via mobile technology and voice services in local languages.
