Drinking bar operators and food vendors who fail to obtain medical certificates before operating will be sanctioned, a district environmental officer has warned.
Mr George Afranie Buadi, Twifo-Hemang-lower-Denkyira district environmental health officer gave the warning at a day's workshop organised by his outfit for drinking bar operators and food vendors, including cooled water sellers, at Twifo-Praso on Wednesday.
The objective of the workshop was to sensitise them on the prevention of communicable diseases, especially cholera and typhoid.
Mr Buadi appealed to participants to sell food under "proper" hygienic conditions by keeping their premises tidy and ensuring that plates used in serving the public are always washed.
The participants were also educated on personal hygiene.
