Brother Seth Ibrahim Owusu, President of the Ghana Muslim Academy, on Friday, cautioned the Muslim youth to be law-abiding during this year's celebration of Eid-ul Fitr, which falls on Monday.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Brother Owusu asked the youth to desist from blocking roads, perching on top of vehicles and
to avoid reckless driving.
He noted that in this way, Muslims could ensure an accident-free festival.
The President stated, "Our concern as Muslims is about how some of our youth negatively celebrate Eid-ul Fitr," adding alcoholism, provocative dressing and causing nuisance to the general public were against the noble ideals of Islam.
Brother Owusu explained that the Ramadan Fast was meant, to change the Islamic ways of doing things for the better.
Brother Shaibu Muniru, General Secretary of the Academy, stated that Islam is peace and peace is its hallmark adding that, anything contrary to peace is not Islamic.
The General Secretary contended that this year Muslims were going to witness a celebration that could ensure that no disturbances were created on the streets by the youth.
He congratulated all Muslims for a successful Ramadan Fast and expressed the hope that they would exhibit very positive and Godly attitude during the Holy month of Ramadan and indeed for the rest of their lives.
