Mr Justice V.C. Senu, presiding over a Dormaa Ahenkro Circuit court, has remanded four accused persons who allegedly murdered a three-and-a-half-year-old boy at Wamanafo into prison custody.
Their pleas were not taken and would re-appear on July 30.
They are, Richard Amponsah, Isaac Yeboah, Kwaku Ankomah and Frederick Obeng.
Police Chief Inspector A.A. Duodu told the court that the accused persons allegedly killed the boy on June 26 this year and dumped the corpse near a stream in a teak plantation at Wamanafo.
He said deceased accompanied his grandmother to visit a relative who stayed at another part of Wamanafo and while both of them were engaged in a conversation, the deceased left them to play with his colleagues outside the house but after the conversation his grandmother could not trace him.
Police Chief Inspector Duodu said she raised the alarm and investigations revealed that Amponsah was seen taking the deceased into a near-by bush.
He said Amponsah was arrested and during interrogation mentioned the three other accused persons as accomplices who requested him (Amponsah) to send the boy into the bush and handed him over to them.
Police Chief Inspector Duodu said a search party found the corpse in the teak plantation.
