A circuit court at Goaso in Asunafo North Municipality has convicted two persons to serve two years jail term each
for stealing personal items of a neighbour.
Akwasi Falimbo, 32, a driver and Kwadjo Awuah, 20, a farmer pleaded guilty to the charge.
Police Chief Inspector Charles Arthur told the court presided by Mr Charles Quampah that both the complainant and the convicts resided at Mim in the municipality.
He said at about 0200 hours on July 31 this year, whilst the complainant, Stephen Hassay, a worker of Ayum Forest Product LMT and his wife were asleep the convicts entered their room and stole a DVD player, video deck, standing fan, electric fan, nokia phone and seven pieces of cloth worth GH 550 cedis.
The prosecutor said the complainant woke up to find that the items were missing, so reported the case to the police.
Chief Inspector Arthur said on August 9 this year the complainant saw some of the items in the possession of Falimbo and he was immediately arrested and handed over to the police.
During interrogation Falimbo mentioned Awuah as an accomplice and he was also arrested.
