A circuit court at Dormaa Ahenkro has remanded a sand winner, Kwame Akanchaab, alias "Quataphy", for stealing from a drugs warehouse.
The court, presided by Mr Justice V. C. Senu, ordered Akanchaab who pleaded guilty to three courts of unlawful entry, causing harm and stealing, to re-appear on September 3, for sentence.
Police Chief Inspector M. K. Yeboah told the court that about a year ago, thieves broke into Joegany Pharmacy, owned by Mr Joseph Adu and made away with drugs worth GH C2,220.00.
On July 23 this year Mr Adu detected that the warehouse had been burgled again and drugs worth GHC1,972.00 and one flat screened computer with accessories valued at GHC200.00 stolen, Chief Inspector Yeboah said.
He said Mr Adu reported the case to the police who advised him to alert all drug stores in the area.
On July 15 this year James Issah, was arrested with some of the drugs, which he offered for sale and during interrogation mentioned Akanchaab as his source.
The prosecutor said when the suspect's room was later searched all the stolen items were found.
He said when he heard of Issah's arrest Akanchaab went into hiding at Wamfie until August 19, when the police acting upon a tip off arrested him at his workplace.
